2009 Mark of Excellence Winners have been announced by the The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®)
Spring Electronic House Expo (EHX) has concluded and the 2009 Mark of Excellence Winners have been announced by the The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®). CEA`s Mark of Excellence Awards, “honor outstanding innovation and achievement in custom home electronics products, services and installation technologies”. Two of our favorite clients, Home Automation, Inc. (HAI) and NuVo Technologies (NuVo) won multiple awards at the March event in Orlando.
It is satisfying for us as well. As these companies’s Research Tax Credit consultants, we track these projects throughout their development cycle, often visiting the engineers twice a year. For example: Nuvo won for their wireless control pad (Platinum, Best Wireless Product). We were able to follow the keypad throughout its development from vague idea to award winner.
The two companies collectively swept one category, and what an important one: Best Green Product, Service or Corporate Policy. NuVo won platinum for their Corporate Environmental Policy and HAI won the gold for its Omnistat2 Thermostat (I recently installed the Omnistat2 in my home –it’s awesome! – makes a great retrofit). I plan to follow their lead and get greener myself – I fire up all my systems at home and I cause a brownout across the state of Indiana!
All-in-all HAI won a total of five awards, the most at the event.
HAI Awards:

- Best Security Product
- Best Structured Wiring Product
- Best Software Application
- Best Training and Support Program
NuVo Awards:
- Best Green Product, Service or Corporate Policy
- Best Wireless Product

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) has announced the winners of the 2009 Mark of Excellence Awards, presented by CEA`s TechHome Division. The winners were recognized at an awards dinner on March 13th at the tenth annual Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2009 in Orlando, Florida.
